First Glances – Pilod
First Glances – Pilod
Belgian based indie-rock act Pilod return with amended line-up and new single.
In their own words:
After two years and a band member switch, Pilod is alive and kicking! Not worn out, but ready to shake things up and keep living life to the fullest. We’ve been making and playing indie rock since 2013. We’re carrying on for a while longer! new track Double Digits highlights our renewed ambition. Remember to cherish your dreams and go after them.
From my perspective these guys are yet another example of how a small country easily holds its own in a musical landscape dominated by USA and UK. Belgium tends to surprise and delight in equal measure. How do I keep finding them? It honestly isn’t that difficult. Pilod put me in mind of slightly heavier, more challenging artists. There are elements of Radiohead but also Soundgarden, there’s some Emo (think American Football) and respectful nods to post rock and hardcore. Hey, let’s call it guitar-based alternative rock. Pilod are Pilod! No one else. The new song speaks for itself in my opinion and their videos are routinely brilliant. This is no exception!
Here it is then:_
