Optional Wallace release second single “The Ladder” from debut album
Former [sic] First Glances stars Optional Wallace are sitting pretty atop this the second single (released this Monday) from their assured self-titled debut LP. And, just like their previous standout single “Generation” ( Steve Lamacq ‘s BBC 6 Music Single of the Week), “The Ladder” finds the Manchester trio preaching social disaffection through gritted teeth and with cut-throat guitars.
With driving guitar licks and an ever-increasing intensity this dynamic indie-rocker gleefully slays all lesser, bedwetting competition on its meteoric ascent, firing out shard-like chord progressions like a warning volley. Get in the way and it’s only inevitable you’ll be shot through the heart.
~“The Ladder” was released 16th April 2012 on digital formats and hand-packaged CD (£1 + P+P via bandcamp/Paypal) via Squealing Beagle , as well as being available for a short time for free download at the band’s homepage.~
