New single featuring Liz Fraser

Anyone heard it?

More to the point...does anyone like it?

After 12 years of "working on it" since she split from Cocteau Twins, it appears that the best Ms Fraser can muster sounds like part of the soundtrack to "'Allo, 'Allo - The Movie". This is what Edith Piaff would have been like if she'd lived long enough to incorporate a bit of trip-hop into her work.

A dire, desperate, dissonant dirge, which serves only show illustrate how much she relied on the other two thirds of CT to come up with the goods.

Simply lamentable...art with a capital "F".

Do us and yourself a favour, Liz...stick to cameo appearances on Massive Attack albums.

"I see Red Cow breaking that 12 year record!"

I see two members of that band with broken necks way before 12 years has passed.

It's a really nice interview. Lot's to read between the lines there. And seems she's the only one of the three with the artistic integrity to knock back £1.5 m.

The only thing is, I fuckin' wanted to get that interview.
Shit

Ah....the old torch is still burning brightly for Ms Fraser, is it, mate?

To be honest, she's the one out of the three with no sense of shamless self-promotion. RG is never out of the CT forum, by all accounts, especially whenever he's got his album or his EP out again.

Yeah Guthrie even consented to interview with me once but not over e-mail. He wanted to actually meet up or phone it in. Said he felt the written ones were "too much like he's doing all the work". Adrian Sherwood said the same. Well, Sherwood said he couldn't type.

I wouldn't say torch burning. But she facinates me and I'd've loved to be the one to get the scoop. She has had a wasted decade though. Look at the career Bjork had. And then Liz. Pity.

Yea it says Jack is on vocals, but on the single I can really even discern his voice from Alison Mossharts
