First Glances – FEET

Jangle-pop act FEET reveal their brand new single ‘Back Seat Driver’.

George (Jeep), Oli, Harry, Callum & Joe did pretty poorly at their A-levels and ended up at Coventry University. Some mutual friends, pasta, rounds in and a scotch egg later, we had FEET!

Late 2017 saw the indie newcomers release their debut 7” ‘Petty Thieving/Macho Macho’ on Felix White’s (The Maccabees) YALA Records to much praise, picking up early support from the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Radio X’s John Kennedy, NME, Sunday Times Culture and DIY Mag. Jeep rather lazily wrote most of “Petty Thieving” on a 4-string guitar because he couldn’t be bothered to re-string it. The lyrics came from an all-nighter with Ollie around Coventry, which ended with a ‘Spoons breakfast and a few tins on the uni roof garden’.

‘Back Seat Driver’ is another slice of the band’s very own raucous indie, steeped in infectious melodies and brute force. Talking about the new tune, FEET explained… “Harry wrote the riff cos he was pissed off after Jeep made him another naff cuppa”.

I think you get the gist.
