BSL is a band we have championed since the very first days of the magazine, their debut album literally being the subject of our first ever published review. Based in Atlanta. GA, Jack Sobel and long-term associate John Kolbek have collaborated intermittently with an array of impressive guests including founder member of The Chameleons, The Sun and The Moon and Trespassers William whilst remaining defiantly Sobel/Kolbeck at their core.
BSLs music spans the spectrum of alternative rock taking in post-punk, shoegaze, Britpop and angst rock. Listeners will get top notes of The Smiths and The Chameleons with middle and base notes of Ride, Catherine Wheel, House Of Love, Oasis, Interpol and Editors. They have featured in many of (and even won) our Album Of The Year round ups.
