First Glances – The Fashion Focus
The Fashion Focus is the work of Los Angeles based, multi-instrumentalist Brian Young. Blending modern day electro dreampop to the early Eighties new wave/post punk sound/synthpop sound, The Fashion Focus have been likened to shoegazers just discovering Berlin era Bowie. To these ears they sound like Jason Spaceman (no relation) getting into early OMD.
Did they take the name from the Starflyer 59 record? We don’t know! The debut album, The World Outside, was released in August 2015 on the Academy of Sound imprint. A [sic] review is in the pipeline.
